Proceeds from Run to the Pub

How is my support of Run to the Pub impacting our community?

We are very proud to say that in the past four years,  proceeds from Run to the Pub have well surpassed $40,000. In 2017 alone, Run to the Pub donated $10,000 to the Bozeman Area Community Foundation! This year, all proceeds from the race will continue to benefit the Bozeman Area Community Foundation.

MISSION - Our heart and soul.
  • The Bozeman Area Community Foundation connects people who care to causes that matter to build a better community.

WHAT DO WE DO?
The Bozeman Area Community Foundation (BACF) is a public charitable foundation. We are nurturing a culture of giving in three ways:
  • We help nonprofit partners thrive by providing grantfunding and professional development opportunities that promote collaboration, growth and sustainability.
  • We help donors change the world through highly effective charitable giving.
  • We provide leadership, finding new ways to make Gallatin County a better place.

As the steward of important charitable assets, we connect donors with causes they care about, serving as a catalyst for community change. We also make smart, strategic investments in Gallatin County by granting funds to the area’s most effective nonprofits.

In addition to our work with philanthropists and non-profits, we inspire a culture of giving through initiatives like our Give Big Gallatin Valley Day on May 2 + 3rd, 2019. In four years, our community has raised $2,643,500 in unrestricted funding through 15,000 gifts during Give Big! Through these initiatives, BACF is actively involved in making Gallatin County a place where basic needs to art, education to nature are accessible to everyone, every day.

WHY WORK WITH A COMMUNITY FOUNDATION?
Because we’ll help you invest wisely in the causes you care most about. No other individual or organization offers what we do:

WE SIMPLIFY CHARITABLE GIVING.
Opening a fund with us is easier and more efficient than opening a private foundation. You don’t have to write multiple checks to various charities, and we handle all of the tedious administrative details.

IT COSTS NOTHING TO GET STARTED.
In contrast with a stand-alone foundation, which comes with significant legal, accounting, and operational fees, opening a fund at BACF is free.

WE OFFER INVALUABLE EXPERTISE.
We bring a wealth of institutional knowledge and experience to the table. When you partner with us, you partner with experts in philanthropy.

WE KNOW THE LOCAL NONPROFIT LANDSCAPE.
After all, we’ve been a part of it for many years. When you work with us, you can be assured that your funds are going to high-caliber programs in Gallatin County.

WE ARE LEGACY EXPERTS.
We’ve helped numerous visionary philanthropists reach their goals. We can help you build a personal legacy that you can be proud of.

WE MAKE PHILANTHROPY PERSONAL.
At its core, giving is a deeply personal act. We treat it that way, making sure that your giving experience is tailored specifically for you.

HOW DOES A COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WORK?
  • A community foundation is a tax-exempt public charity created by and for the people in a local area. It enables people with philanthropic interests to easily and effectively support the issues they care about either immediately or through their estates. Community foundations do this by helping individuals, families, and businesses establish charitable funds to which they may contribute a variety of assets.
  • Grants are then made from these funds to nonprofit groups in order to meet the charitable goals of the donor. Donors and their families may be actively involved in the selection of the nonprofit groups. The grants can be made in the donor’s name or anonymously. Community foundations have in-depth knowledge of their communities and remain alert to emerging needs in order to respond quickly and effectively.
  • They convene groups including donors, nonprofit leaders and elected officials, to work together on community problem-solving. Community foundations foster greater giving and volunteering in our communities.
  • Community foundations have a long tradition of helping bring about thoughtful, effective change. The first one was started in 1914, and there are now nearly 700 throughout the United States.
